There are two main types of lasers available for skin resurfacing : Carbon Dioxide lasers and Erbium-Yag lasers. Both have their advantages.

Carbon dioxide lasers cause more redness of the skin and the recovery time is slightly longer than Erbium-Yag lasers but carbon dioxide lasers are more effective than Erbium -Yag lasers.

They are both computer controlled and it is easier to achieve an even treatment than the other two options.
